Know Your Seat: 80 Series Seat Configurations
Before ordering seat covers — or any of the add-ons below — it helps to know which seat configuration your 80 Series has. The 80 Series was produced from 1990 to 1997 with three distinct seat configurations depending on year, market, and trim level. LCH has purpose-built molds for each one.
| Seat Type | Years / Market | Key Details |
|---|---|---|
| Manual Seats (Early) | 1991–1992 · US Market | Original US-spec manual seat; LCH has a dedicated mold |
| Manual Seats (Late) | 1993–1994 · US Spec · Cloth | Different profile from 91–92 |
| Power Seats | 1993–1997 · US Market | Power-adjustable; LCH covers fit all power variants |
| Non-US Market Manual | Various · International | Typically mirrors 93–94 US profile; photo confirmation required |
Which Seat Do You Have?
- 1991–1992 US Market: Early manual seat — LCH has a dedicated mold.
- 1993–1994 US Market (cloth): Late manual seat. Different profile from 91–92 — confirm your year before ordering.
- 1993–1997 US Market: If power-adjustable, you’re in the power seat category regardless of year.
- Non-US Market: Typically follows the 93–94 US profile, but exceptions exist. LCH will ask for a photo before cutting leather.
📸 Not sure which seat you have? Send us a photo before ordering. We review every non-US market order and any unclear year/trim before cutting leather. Email [email protected] or include it in your order notes.

1. LCH Seat Bottom Cushion Replacement — $379 / Pair
This is the upgrade we recommend to every 80 Series owner. Your factory seat foam is 25 to 35 years old. No matter how good your new leather covers look on the outside, they will only ever be as good as what’s underneath them.
Why the Original Foam Needs to Go
- Compressed bolsters that no longer hold you in place during cornering
- Sagging center sections that shift your hip position and cause back fatigue on long drives
- Hardened foam that transmits bumps and vibration instead of absorbing them
- Uneven surface contours that prevent seat covers from lying flat and looking their best
The LCH Difference
LCH seat bottom cushions are built to match the original Toyota specifications for the 80 Series driver and passenger positions — the density, profile, and contour of the factory cushion the way it left the factory in the early 1990s.
- Correct density profile for proper support and long-term durability
- Factory contour dimensions — covers fit exactly as designed, no pulling, bunching, or gaps
- Drops in as a direct replacement — no seat frame modifications required
Why It Matters for Fitment
When the underlying cushion is collapsed or uneven, leather covers have nothing to conform to — they may look loose, wrinkle at the bolsters, or not sit flush at the seams. With a fresh LCH cushion underneath, the leather has the exact contour it was cut for.
💡 LCH Recommendation: If your 80 Series has more than 150,000 miles or is over 20 years old, we consider the seat cushion replacement essential — not optional. It’s the single best thing you can do to ensure your covers look and perform the way they’re designed to.

2. Door Armrest Covers — $80 (All 4 Doors)
The 80 Series door armrests are one of the most-touched surfaces in the cabin. LCH door armrest covers wrap all four door pads in the same leather used for your seat covers — color-matched, stitching-matched, cut to fit the 80 Series door profile.
- Covers for all 4 doors — front and rear
- Leather and stitching matched to your seat cover order
- Direct fit over existing armrest padding — no drilling or modifications
Installing premium leather seats and leaving cracked leather armrests in place is one of the most common interior mistakes we see. Matching armrest covers complete the cabin and make the entire interior feel intentional.

3. Center Console Cover — $80
The 80 Series center console lid takes abuse. Elbows, coffee cups, gear shifts, map books — after 30 years it shows every bit of it. The LCH center console cover wraps the lid and sides in full leather, color and stitch-matched to your seat covers.
- Console lid — top surface and edges
- Console side panels
- Leather and stitching matched to your seat cover order

4. Heated Seat Retrofit — $99
The 80 Series did not come from the factory with heated seats. The LCH heated seat retrofit adds that capability directly into your new leather covers — wiring, heating elements, and switches included.
- Carbon fiber heating elements embedded in the seat covers during fabrication
- Wiring harness sized for the 80 Series electrical system
- Dash-mounted or panel-mounted toggle switches (OEM-style installation)
- No external wires, no lumps — seat looks and feels identical to a non-heated cover

💡 Good to Know: Since the 80 Series has no factory ventilated seats, perforated leather is an aesthetic choice — but if you’re adding heated seats, non-perforated leather will retain warmth more efficiently.
